Hi, I'm a new user in UK so I have many BBC programmes recorded via Media Center and a digital Twin channel receiver (Haupage). on my PC. I've now bought a Samsung BD Player (BD-C6500) which will wifi my network to the TV. Unfortunately it won't play .wrt files! Hence my need for a good converter.
I'm using Win7 HP, 32 bit on a Compaq Presario SR5414 Intel Core Duo E4600 @2.4 GHz and 2GB Ram. It has a 250GB disc SATA so it's fairely fast.
I've just tried the Ver 2 Beta and it's really too buggy to be relased into the wide world yet!
1) As an earlier posting mentioned the file permission are wrong and I quickly tried allowing every user except guest full control. This at least allowed adding new files to be encoded. Originally I had cancelled all the programs in the box that MCEBuddy had found. Add would find the programs but not add them into the Window.
2) Failure to start the MCEBuddy Service is still there. Service Start is set to 'Automatic'. It did start up this morning OK but now says restart through Windows control panel. Suggest change this message to read 'Windows Services'. Better still fix the bug.
3) At present all output files are written to the MCEBuddy\working0 directory. I had to do a search to find my output files! Luckily the program that I had converted first which was 1 hour long, I had moved to Public\Video first, because having changed the File and Folder Permissions MCEBuddy had cleared working0 folder first!. This first conversion took about 5Hrs, 1hr for ad slicing and 2hrs each for each pass as the default was for HI Def. The second time I set it on Fast conversion and it still takes 3 Hrs for a one hour program. My CPU cores were both working flat out with 80% to conversion and the rest to other programs and Services. Memory and disk were not a problem being at 65% and 55% peak each. Suggest when you settle Ver 2 down that the defaults are set to Fast and non verbose Message logging.
I've removed Ver2.0 Beta for the moment and going to run Ver 1.1 after this message. Please accept my congratulation in at leat makinh something that will work very well in the future. I can see that it's a very complex subject (just read the log output to see what has to be done) and I shall offer a Donation after I'v run Ver 1.1!
I can send the Log file (it's nearly 5MB) by email if it's any help.
Regards to all the Developers.
