Fly.  You're right the issue is in the encode itself (see prev post) as I've finally been abe to reproduce this.  I have a new encode which has been behaving properly so far, but I need to do a new HDTV recording test with it.  It will either be released as an encode update or with BETA11.  If you have time and can test it now, send me an eMail and I'll forward you the new encode.  mcebuddy@tyrell.com.au

i just tried beta11 and still have the same audio sync issues of about 2-3 seconds.  Again this is with SD programming and encoded as 640x480 divx analogue.

Fly, I think I have found the issue.  There is a known issue with mencoder libs and HDTV recordings when encoding Xvid/Divx using Bframes (if you think that's a big mouthful of jargon you're right).  I'm running a HDTV recording today while I'm at work and will test a conversion when I get back with a fix.

Hmmm.  That's not good.  There are two fixes in Update 1, one is for HDTV and one is for general drift.  Have you tried it?
